Aircraft Carrier Made of Ice
During WW II, Winston Churchill’s inner circle hatched a plan for an unsinkable battleship. It would be made of ice. A 1:50 scale prototype was built at Patricia Lake, Alberta. The prototype was abandoned even though it proved seaworthy. But was it unsinkable? Well, it took three hot summers to melt the 1,000 ton ship. The remains lie at the bottom of Patricia Lake and are popular with scuba divers
